After we got off the highway (paved road) it was about 50 miles of narrow unpaved road to my friend’s place. It seemed as if the only vehicles passing us were Border Patrol vehicles. We finally made it to my friend Scott’s place at Parker Canyon Lake. I was telling him about the drive to his place and he said the reason so many Border Patrol cars went by was because we were a little over 5 miles from the Mexican border. This is a picture from the deck of his log cabin. Notice the rain in the distance? That is over Mexico. Luckily, we made it through the stay with no more “official” interactions.
